Mascara combo I’ve been using lately

Trust me, I am the one that doesn’t have patience to use more mascaras or more coats so there are many surprises in this post that I will be writing about.

I’ve been using the same mascara even though I have tried more than 10 that are just not good for me. From flaking, leaving marks on the lid and just making my lashes clump. I’ve been using one mascara that wasn’t doing anything except adding little bit of black. It was heavy and I was only using it because there wasn’t anything else that was bad about it like all the other ones that I tried, didn’t irritate my eyes and it was very affordable. So I just replaced it.
It was long before I started experimenting with mascaras because I had problem with my eyes and I just didn’t want to experiment much.

After many mascaras that I have tried and now stay at my storage because they are used only once and I have inability to throw something new because all of them are used only 2-3 times, I finally bought one that I liked. I didn’t wanted to try it before because it was plastic want and plastic wands used to irritate my eyes very much. To my surprise, this one didn’t and it is from the same brand like the mascara that I’ve been using for long.

But, being that kind of wand it didn’t do what I wanted which is noticeable dark colour on my lashes. So I combined the two of them and now I have very good combination.

I apply one coat, do my face makeup and when I finish, I apply another coat from the other mascara. Sometimes I forget but that is also ok because there is already one coat that already looks nice.

It is perfect for me because both of them are affordable and because I still have fear for my eyes, I replace them very often, so it is a big plus for me and my budget.

Essence eyeliner comparison

Hi my readers 🙂

Recently I bought the new version of the Essence eyeliner. Before I used the regular version, after that I used the waterproof and now the new one. I didn’t see much of a difference between the regular and the waterproof and plus I bought them in Germany, the origin of this brand. This last one however, I am noticing very big difference.

Essence liquid ink waterproof eyeliner with soft bristle does not stay as long, disappears on the parts where my skin touches and the rest of it crumbles very easy. Tried it over eyeshadow and without shadow and the result is the same.
The previous one stayed better than this one. I don’t know if there is something to do with the country I bought it from but it is possible since there are many differences with many products.

The previous had has bristle wand and was thicker but there wasn’t a problem when I was creating a precise wing.

The new version has soft and thinner bristle. No problem when it comes to applying it but like previous stated, it does not have the same longevity.

I still have the previous ones just in case I reuse the wands and I guess I am actually going to but for applying and after that I will reuse it for nail art.

To top it all off, the old version had 4ml and the new version has 3ml and it is the same price.

Perfect time to perfect your eyeliner (and some blogs with eye makeup inspo)

Since we are living this chaos and since many of us in the whole world are at home, I think that this is the perfect time to perfect our eye makeup game.

We all are wearing masks (if you aren’t and you are out and about, get one!) and all everyone can see is our eyes. Then why not work on our eye makeup game? Now is the time to burn some steam off while practicing our eye makeup.

Don’t be afraid to experiment! Now is the time to loosen up for the future! Use some color. If you don’t like it – you can always wash it off and try another color. Don’t be afraid to be yourself! We can see how short life is. Why not make the most of it!

Linda Hallberg Cosmetics being stolen from

A week or so ago I’ve watched a instagram video about Linda’s brand being stolen from. They explained that this was their third time happening and at this point they are thriving. I would assume so because 3 times is a lot!

So I wanted to do my little thing and inform you that if you see some illegally sold cosmetics, please ignore or better yet – report them to Linda’s team.

Makeup Geek Rebranding and new release

Lets get back to the makeup related posts with some information about a makeup brand that was created by Marlena Stell.

The brand

Marlena Stell is one of the OG youtubers. She was one of the first to create her own makeup brand Makeup Geek. The products were considered to be inexpensive and at the same time with really good quality. She started with single pan eyeshadows and since then, she created some memorable and now known as signature shades that many youtubers used in their makeup tutorials.

Since then, she decided to do a re-brand to her makeup line. The launch day was 18-th of january.

I might not follow hes as much as others, but from what I’ve seen, she presented herself as a very sweet person accompanied with some strongness. She perseveires and is not afraid to make some different decisions.

The new beginning 

The brand presented two palettes that contain 28 shades of square eyeshadow pans (as oppose to the circular ones that they used to have). They remind me of mauve-y shades and contain more cool toned shades than warm ones which is a breath of fresh air with all the boring warm toned and alike looking palettes we are seeing. Granted, people got so used to the warm that this makes it very bold to start the rebranding with mostly cool toned shadows. Applause.

Price

The price point looks high, but comparing to the 1,5g/0,5oz per pan and knowing that there are 28 shades, doesn’t leave it so different than a regular for ex. 14 shade palette. Except, those 14 pan palettes from other brands are usually reduced to approximately 0,7g/0,02oz per shade and they cost about ~ $50.

I definitely understand the potential consumers about them stating that this looks very high just because there are countries that have monthly salary of the double pack or the “complete matrix mega set“. But it is about weighing the need for it.

Look at this amazing shades. That colorful one looks really nice.

Fun fact

The very well known shade „Cocoa Bear“ is now renamed „Cheetah Bear“. If you know, you know 😀

 

Conclusion

The formula is updated and some changes are made. There are already some reviews made about this palettes so before you make a final decision, you can always look them up. They also have amazing team that has answered nearly every question on their instagram profile so if you have more questions, you can head up there, read some answers or just ask questions. I’m sure you will get an answer  🙂

Kat Von D is leaving Kat Von D Beauty

I am not a gossip blog. But this blog is something from everything hence me writing this.

 

For a while now, I’ve noticed Kat Von D Beauty doing sale on some items. Then the amount of those items on sale increased leading the prices to the point of „drugstore“ brand. It was somewhat suspicious but the brand reassured the customers that they aren’t going out of business but making room for new items. That was kind of suspicious knowing that even the lipsticks that were bestsellers were on sale.

Today, Kat Von D announced that she is selling her shares of Kat Von D Beauty. Her reason is „managing many things at once“.

But, we can’t forget that fact that after all, she was very public about some choices that she made. It makes me wonder if those choices was the biggest reason of her leaving her own makeup brand.

The brand unfolowed her on social media and she unfolowed the brand on their social media.

She must have really touched some nerves there since the brand is even responding to comments that contain strong language and cursing words that are directed towards her.

Since she made some choices public, many customers weren’t pleased with them. Granted, she is allowed to do what she decides, but she is in the public eye after all.
One of those questionable choices was: her revealing her plans for her kid’s health.
In this case, it was extremely inconsiderate to her kid and ethically questionable when she decided to publicly share her plans involving his health (you all know what I’m writing about). Later on, she finally came to her senses and stated that she will not be sharing her sun’s health involving things (it took her that long!).

It is bad enough that people share their kid’s pictures on the internet, much less their health details and charts.

She encountered with some backlash and people openly criticized her and her choices.
And rightfully so. Imagine someone revealing your health decisions and problems to the public, without consent. This makes it worse because there is kid involved. Her kid that doesn’t have a say.

She can reveal whatever she wants about herself and only herself.

This all led to people „stan“ to her but people disagreeing with her leading to them removing Kat Von D Beauty’s products from their collection or using them up but never mentioning it. Some made it obvious, some made it seamingless but there wasn’t a question that many people and beauty persons were leaving her products out.

Knowing a thing or two about business, I think that Kat Von D Beauty was facing losses and in order to stop that, they needed to make changes and remove the cause for that. Something like what Lime Crime did but only more publicly and drastically. We don’t know for sure if she sold all of her shares, but she is not the main name on the brand.

In just a few hours that her post was revealed, many has gone to their favorite social media to state that they will now be buying the, now KvD Vegan Beauty products.

 

 

I only wish people were this decisive in group boycotting and protesting about climate changes , pollution and buying less plastic. After all, this is makeup, but we don’t have another planet. Do not underestimate your power to make a better change!

 

 

 

Contour laugh

Hi my Readers 🙂

I am a person that really likes makeup and wants to extenuate it. To be visible. With my pale skin, all the bronzers looked oooorange on me. And with heavy hand – I looked like Garfield.

I looked and looked in the stores and I couldn’t find anything that wasn’t orange on me. I also searched for a palette – still no luck.

Then I turned to the nearest bazaar. Granted, the ingredients in that cheap makeup are probably awful, but when there is no option – for me, I went for it. And sure enough – I found something that I like. Few years ago I found a single shadow that worked really good on me. And it was taking me ages to spend it. I got bored and found myself a palette. It was so cheap and exactly the gray tones I was looking for.

The laugh was that it had an eyeshadow brush in it. If there was a person that is not into makeup that much, wouldn’t have known how to use this product. So, clearly, there is not much thought put into these products.

I removed it because I had to travel and I’m currently not at home. But it was one of those sponge applicator on one and paint brush type on the other end.

The sades are definitely waay too dark for me but I’m mixing it with the first shade and it works really good.

Ingredients

They are probably really bad and I will see if my skin reacts to them becauae I am using it only under my cheeks. I will most definitely update you if there are some changes.

Also, if there is cool toned alternative to a contour pallet like this that you know of and will not break the bank account, let me know because I’m kinda not ok with using this product for extensive period of time 🙂

Media milking the drama about YouTubers

Hy Readers

Up until 2-3 days ago, media didn’t care about YouTube and the drama surrounding it. It seems really hypocritical to care about them now when there are only bad things and incidents involved. Do people really care only about the bad things?

Where was this media writing about this people when they were doing some good things. They didn’t care! 

New York Times writing about some drama. E! news reporting on their news about this too. It is really interesting, especially because media didn’t care to write about these people and their good stuff up until they were involved in a drama and incidents so people really don’t know who they are writing about.

You have this HUGE audience, and instead of using it for good, you are using it to talk about only about the negative things! FOR CLICKS!

I could care less, but spreading only negative vibes and whet it is about bad things and ignoring everything good they’ve done only to get those clicks, that is not ok!

The liking is over. The trolls are coming

This topic is just too good to let go of. I mean, when there is something happening, it is only natural to be curious about it. Lately the beauty community was shaking over the Tati speaking up about James Charles. And with good reason. If you know to know more about the last fail that James Charles has done – Line up for the $500 ticket; James Charles did an oopsie  And if you want to know about the actual drama – Someone can make your career. That same someone can also break it.

There were the haters, the leechers, the memes and now we are getting to the trolling part. But by the time I post this, it will be all about Tati. It is already beginning. Of course she is going to be dragged. They are going to pick everybody, like it is expected form one person to sweep up the mess that is created over the years.

They say that she only calls them out when they’ve done something to her personally. Well I don’t see anyone else doing something about it, so why should she do that alone?

They expect one person to fix the „beauty community“ while everybody else is staying silent because was too afraid it will ruin relationships and are hypocrites? That is overreaching.

Also, YouTube has removed Tati’s video from the trending page. Doesn’t surprise me after PewDiePie being constantly removed from there. „Good job“ YouTube.

Please be civil about all of this. Bullying is not karma.

As I said in THIS POST, I am in no way justifying his behavior, but there has to be limit.

Placing screenshots from a person that was only flerting with you, or just wanted to be sweet and polite afterwards because you rejected him and he didn’t know how to act, is not something you should tweet.
And only persons cheering that behavior is probably teenagers. As I saw the screenshots, he was only flirting. And in return he got screenshots. For what? To milk some attention out of it! NOT COOL!
There is nothing wrong with flirting. You could feel uncomfortable if you are not into it, but screenshots so you can milk some attention out of it…… NO!

People forgot how to interact and what is interaction.

Please remember this before go and attack someone you know only from the interneta dn feed to the cyber – bullying. Goes for James Charles AND for Tati.
Bullying is a serious subject! Don’t feed the monster that it is!

I am not a gossip blog, neither was interested in the drama part of youtube. But some things are just too big to be left alone.

As the tiltle states, someone can make your career. But if you take it for granted and feel entitled? That same one can also break it.

Tati Westbrook is very well known and loved person on YouTube. It is funny how we focus on the bad, when we can focus on the good and writing this, I wanted to only mention her and write few words. But instead, I’m making a difference and making nice people the center of attention. Also, It is funny how we can think of so many unkind words but when it comes to compliments – we all look past them. So the focus on this post is: she has really pleasant voice, she is kind, understanding, smart and maybe more but from what is translated, as viewer – that is the summation. She has her own company – Halo Beauty. She knows how to compose a sentence without using the beauty slang and annoy half of the population 😀 OK, that was my lame attempt of a dad joke, but if you go on her channel, you can witness better ones 😀 Moving on…

She has such an impact and it is respected that with only one video, was able to stir up so much and make people think of their decisions.

 

I feel sorry for James Chalres at this moment because he is still a teenager that can’t handle everything that he is served with. I watched a video of him how lost he was on the red carpet of the Met Gala and even though he is the villain now, the immaturity got the best of him. It’s possible that the anger that a bully contents is not towards those people and they are not the source to the „bullys“ problem. That „bully“ is a person too and is pouring and focusing his or her anger towards the wrong person. Living with all this technology is easier to become angry and to focus that anger towards wrong people and things.

I am in no way justifying his behavior, but am stating the possibilities. If fact, just 2 days ago I wrote about his events – Line up for the $500 ticket; James Charles did an oopsie. 

This teaches us something very important: no matter how big you are – kindness always prevails!
