ebelin Mikrofiber makeup removing towel (Mikrofaser Reinigungstuch)

Hi my Readers

I’ve been trying to find something that will be a better solution when it comes to removing my makeup. Mikrofiber towels are nothing new but the idea of it was unsettling to me because some of them were made of a material that was unpleasant to touch. That’s why I was a little bit conflicted about ordering it online. And that was the only option since it is not very famous and not many stores were carrying it. I finally decided to just take one and see how it goes. I went out and searched for it but only found dark ones which for many people would be a good idea but to me, just looked that I will not be able to see if I have completely removed the makeup or there are still traces of it.

After that I gave up on that idea until two days later saw it on the back of a store while I was on the register paying for the things that I bought. I went around, made a circle and without many thoughts, touched it to see if it had that funny texture, noticed that it didn’t and immediately took it to the register.

There are 4 shades available and if you know this post: Very peri bye to the Pantone color of 2022 or you saw the pictures (duh) you already know which color I picked.

The product

Since then, I used it to remove eye makeup and face makeup. I don’t use foundation so I wouldn’t know how it performs with it.

How to use

It has better results with warm water and when I used cold, it still removed the makeup but it was a bit stubborn.

I washed it before use (of course) and I used soap to wash it immediately after that. So instead of taking me 5 minutes to remove the makeup, now it takes me 7 but that means less cotton rounds. After the wash with the soap, I place it on a rack to dry so it can’t harbor any bacteria. After several uses I will soak it in boiling water to completely eliminate that possibility of bacteria and will continue to do that.

Sometimes I need one cotton round to remove some bits, sometimes I just put micellar water directly on the towel and just go with it.

It does not scratch the skin since its fibers are very soft.

Conclusion

This towel helps out removing most of my makeup and saves up on using too much cotton rounds. N

No matter the brand, if you see it, I recommend you try it and if you do, write to me and tell me or tag me in your post so I can see it.

Until the next read

Have a nice one

Essence eyeliner comparison

Essence eyeliner comparison

Hi my readers 🙂

Recently I bought the new version of the Essence eyeliner. Before I used the regular version, after that I used the waterproof and now the new one. I didn’t see much of a difference between the regular and the waterproof and plus I bought them in Germany, the origin of this brand. This last one however, I am noticing very big difference.

Essence liquid ink waterproof eyeliner with soft bristle does not stay as long, disappears on the parts where my skin touches and the rest of it crumbles very easy. Tried it over eyeshadow and without shadow and the result is the same.
The previous one stayed better than this one. I don’t know if there is something to do with the country I bought it from but it is possible since there are many differences with many products.

The previous had has bristle wand and was thicker but there wasn’t a problem when I was creating a precise wing.

The new version has soft and thinner bristle. No problem when it comes to applying it but like previous stated, it does not have the same longevity.

I still have the previous ones just in case I reuse the wands and I guess I am actually going to but for applying and after that I will reuse it for nail art.

To top it all off, the old version had 4ml and the new version has 3ml and it is the same price.

Few pictures of the wand and some swatches:

Just a week ago I bought the felt tip one and after several uses I will write about those too.

Have you tried this one and have you tried the previous versions for comparison?

Wishing you a great end of the weekend 🙂

essense – glazed donut – highlighter

Standard

Hi my Readers 🙂

This is not the glazed donut you were all thinking about (hint: Nikkie Tutorials) but it is still a very nice highlighter.

essence glazed donut highlighter

I have bought several essence highlighters and I don’t really know if I like them or not 😀

Lets start with this one.

What it claims and ingredient list:

essence glazed donut highlighter ingredients

My impressions:

This is white highlighter with white specks of glitter that are not particularly intense. It is really brightening and if you use it like me – with heavy hand – can look little white-ish on the face. So the part where it claims that this is from white to dark skin tones – not the case. If you have medium or slightly darker skin, you can still use it as an eyeshadow or eye corner highlight but not as much like face highlight. So it is probably you pick up some other shade.

I use this highlighter as base since it is not enough for me (I like reeealy intense highlight). I place it as base on the highest points of the back of the cheeks, continue it applying it in C shape and motion towards the brow bone and that’s it. After I continue with another shade of highlighter that I apply only on the upper back portion of the highest part of the cheek (come to think of it, a diagram would’ve been better 😀 ).

If your skin is really pale, this can be used as brightening highlight (not powder since it has the specks of glitter) or if your skin is little less pale (is that even a thing) you can use it as base and mix it up with other highlighters, like I do.
As you can see, it is little banged up since it traveled through states and cities and it is still in good form.

On these pictures, the light is in the other room and this is a reflection (also a blurred one for comparison):

Have you tried some of the essence highlighters and what are your impressions?

Have a nice one,

Wet N Wild, Rosé In The Air E758 eyeshadow palette

Standard

Hi my Readers 🙂

If this isn’t old palette, I don’t know what isn’t. I decided to make this post anyway because I’m sure many people have it in their collection. I wanted to bring it up just to remind many of you that we already have too much makeup in our collection. 🙂

At first, I couldn’t decide which one to but. I didn’t wanted to buy them both because I already had too much neutrals and this was going to be my travel palette, since I want to travel with as less as possible.

I opted for the Rosé In The Air.  This palette is hyped so much so I had to give it a go. It is compared with the Anastasia Beverly Hills – Modern Renaissance palette.

wet n wild rose in the air

Opinion:

This eyeshadows blend really nice and they are really good for an everyday look. If you like something bolder (like me) you’d probably want to mix it with another palette or just bring a black with you (like I do) and there you go. Although there is darker brown so that would work just as well.

On the back on the packaging, there is pictorial and example of how you would use the shadows.

Another thing to note is that it is really easy to hold and handle. It is tiny but it definitely better for me this way. I have a longer MUR palette that I can put a brush inside for my sort travels but this is way better for me.

Since There are many bloggers that did swatches, I’m going to include some of theirs just because I want to promote some blogs. If anyone wants to be here, just write me. In the meantime:

Or if you want swatches specifically on my pale skin, you can write me too. 🙂

I definitely recommend this palette since their shadows are really easy do blend and create a look with.

If you have made a post about this palette, I would for sure want to check it out, so make sure you link them in the comments.
Other readers, make sure you check the comments if hopefully someone left a comment with their post about this palette 🙂

Have a nice one 😉

Contour laugh

Contour laugh

Hi my Readers 🙂

I am a person that really likes makeup and wants to extenuate it. To be visible. With my pale skin, all the bronzers looked oooorange on me. And with heavy hand – I looked like Garfield.

I looked and looked in the stores and I couldn’t find anything that wasn’t orange on me. I also searched for a palette – still no luck.

Then I turned to the nearest bazaar. Granted, the ingredients in that cheap makeup are probably awful, but when there is no option – for me, I went for it. And sure enough – I found something that I like. Few years ago I found a single shadow that worked really good on me. And it was taking me ages to spend it. I got bored and found myself a palette. It was so cheap and exactly the gray tones I was looking for.

The laugh was that it had an eyeshadow brush in it. If there was a person that is not into makeup that much, wouldn’t have known how to use this product. So, clearly, there is not much thought put into these products.

I removed it because I had to travel and I’m currently not at home. But it was one of those sponge applicator on one and paint brush type on the other end.

The sades are definitely waay too dark for me but I’m mixing it with the first shade and it works really good.

Ingredients

They are probably really bad and I will see if my skin reacts to them becauae I am using it only under my cheeks. I will most definitely update you if there are some changes.

Also, if there is cool toned alternative to a contour pallet like this that you know of and will not break the bank account, let me know because I’m kinda not ok with using this product for extensive period of time 🙂

Have a nice one.

Essence – Mermaid Eyeshadow Box – 03 – My Shell Is My Castle

Standard

Hi my Readers 🙂

I’m always looking out for the colorful pallets that are on display and this is not different. I went in a store in Frankfurt to find something for my skincare that I couldn’t find anywhere else and I saw this pallet and bought it. I’m not sure why I did that since I don’t have much luck with essence eyeshadows but I guess I wanted to give them another try.

So, this is going to be about essence eyeshadow in general.

Essence eyeshadows swatch really good but when it comes to applying, they are really difficult. It takes different brushes and some setting spray (that not everybody has on hand) to make them work.

Essence – Mermaid Eyeshadow Box – 03 – My Shell Is My Castle

I made look with this palette and it is not different from the previous ones. Gorgeous shades, difficult to apply. They might be inexpensive but that doesn’t mean we could spend so much time applying them.

Also, after an hour of wearing it, my eyes started acting up and were hurting. I do have problems with my eyes but that hasn’t happened from an eyeshadow a really long time.

Update: after few hours of wear, my eyes were reeealy RED, itchy, irritated and burning. Luckily I decided to postpone my activities and traveling for the next day and was able to remove the eyeshadow (I only had that eyeshadow, no mascara or eyeliner). It continued being like that hours after removing the eyeshadow and ended up not going out because of that. After removing it, I felt relief.

Their lasting power is not much of a power. They bunch up in the crease after a short time and they disappear after little longer.

Also, you see that gooorgeous gold shade, well, it turns out the glitter is overspray and the rest of it is really bad almost transparent shade that I could not make work even with concealer as a base.

So far I’ve tried half of the eyeshadows in the palette.

A tip: you remember those sponge eyeshadow applicators that everyone dislikes, ridicules and throws away? Well, those ones are amazing for applying this eyeshadows and was the only thing that could apply this shadows. Even the fingers didn’t work as good as those.

You can find it here.

If you tried essence eyeshadows, did the work good or they were difficult to work with?

I’m done with the neutrals!

Standard

Hi my Readers 🙂

Scrolling through every social media, including wordpress (yes, I actually read what you guys post – everyone likes their work to be appreciated!), I was liking neutral looks to the point where my timeline and suggestions were filled only with neutral looks! Don’t get me wrong, I like neutrals, but I’m done with them. Especially those warm neutrals that it seems everyone are stuck with and are too afraid to step out of their comfort zone.

I get that most of the people are looking for work-appropriate looks. And let me tell you, there are so many options. Nobody is thinking of full glam or drag, but little color didn’t hurt nobody!

Also, this is more oriented towards the MUAs on social media that „hey guys, so today I’m going to do a simple neutral look that is so requested“. Oh, you mean the same neutral look that you did on your last 10 videos, pictures and blog posts? Cool. I mean, warm, because apparently cool tones are the „scary“ part when it comes to makeup.

What are people so afraid of? Especially when it comes to makeup? It gets off with a simple face lotion.

Why are people attracted only to neutral pallets? They have one, two or more, but they are still going to buy the next neutral pallet. If you weren’t only-neutral-toned person, it is probably the social media causing you to have 5 of the same palettes.

neutrals stop using neutrals makeup make up eyeshadow lipstick neutral tone lipstick neutrals warm neutrals cool toned neutrals nude nudes nude lipstick peachy nude peachy neutrals

I remember the first time I wore red lipstick. NOBODY was wearing anything but balm (or, I guess, looked like a balm but were probably again some neutral tones of lipsticks).

It gave me courage to be more confident and to be myself EVEN MORE.

Sure, I got some looks, but I can assure you: nobody remembers the time I wore red lipstick. Only me. Because people remember things for max of 3 days. And then it goes away. And nobody cares. Only me, because it made me confident for more experimenting with my makeup.

After I wore it, it became a trend and lipsticks became more common thing.

I was someone that wore different eye makeup every time I got out. I always matched my makeup with my outfit. But after AAAALLLL of those insta photos that I was bombarded with and videos that were made of only WARM neutrals, I kind of forgot about the colorful looks that I used to do every time I wore different color on me. AND I BLAME THE SOCIAL MEDIA! OK, I’ll calm down now.

Just imagine how your social media is influencing you? I’m always reading that people want to experiment more with their makeup, but are afraid. And that does the social media influencers do? Add on to that fear with doing and promoting ONLY warm neutrals, basic, and minimal (but caked up) make up.

Instead of being yourself, you are pushed away inside back into the box, which is the opposite of what you need to do!

Don’t be afraid to experiment (if I type „afraid“ with two „f“s again….. -.- ) and most of all, don’t be afraid (here it is with the both f’s again -.- ) to be yourself.

Let me try that again.

BE YOURSELF and don’t let social media, neighbor or anyone else discourage you or shove you in that box!

I have so much to write about, but I think that’s enough for now. Nobody will read this anyway.  So I might as well stop here before I write a whole book about this 😀

I really would like to know what is your opinion about this. Comment and share your thoughts. Do you have the same feeling?

Have a nice one.. and remember to be yourself. 🙂

Catrice – eye brow stylist – brow pencil

Hi my Readers 🙂

Recently I did a haul post (I really dislike the word „haul“ so I titled it differently and you can see what I purchased by clicking over this text) and in that…haul, I purchased new brow pencil.

I needed new pencil after I found out that my favorite brow pencil is no longer carried in my country (smh) or is discontinued. In addition to 3 others, I added this one to my collection. None of them are comparable to that one. I just searched for one that will match my ashy brows even a little bit.

What I look for in a brow product

As context, I would like to let you know what are my preferences:

  1. Ashy, but just the right amount, no red undertones
  2. Light, but not too light and that is surprisingly hard to find
2.1 When applied, not to turn darker and to be even on the skin, as well as the brows
  3. Not too creamy, stiff and not patchy

Catrice eye brow stylist – brow pencil
with the coolest shade name
040 Don’t Let Me Brow’n
(get it 😀 )

catrice eye brow stylist

I must admit, this is a great shade name. With the inspiration and the pun 😀

The brow product

This brow pencil is with creamy texture. Has a spoolie on the other end. You can get it here.

catrice spoolie

Application and results

When I apply it, it has creamy texture and it gets stuck to the brow hair and when I apply it to the patches that are not covered with hair, it just not applies. I go over those parts several times and it still does not look like it stays on. I end up with a patch and too bold hairs. And when I go over with the spoolie on the other end (or even with different with that matter), it makes those patches even worse, disappears from them even more. It actually removes completely that little product that is applied and I’m left wit too bold brow hair and bold patches.

I tried swatching exactly as I would apply it on my brows, and as you can see, there is inconsistency.

Conclusion

As much as I wanted this product to work for me, it actually didn’t. I will probably continue to use it as much as I can but i’m not impressed.

Have you tried this brow pencil and if so, how did it work for you?

Have a nice one,
