Weekly terrible nail shots

Weekly terrible nail shots

Hi my Readers 🙂

I decided to name this series “weekly terrible nail shots” because, like you already knew by the previous one, I always take nail shots right before I decide to remove and by that time, the nails look terrible.

For this nail “design”, I painted one hand with deep red and the other with more burgundy red, just so I can see which one suits the glitter better. Suffice to say that the deep red is not my favourite combination and the burgundy one is little better but still on the fence about it.

So here are the pictures that nobody asked for 🤣

Do you have any suggestions on how I can combine this glitter nail polish? Wis

Have a good one, Antidote 🙂

Another terrible-picture of the nails of the week

Standard

Hi my Readers 🙂

By now you are probably used to my terrible nail pictures. But I will still keep posting them because they actually look good in RL and I want to have inspo-reminder. So here are this week’s pics of them 🙂 As usual I included some blurry ones so you can see the glitter 🙂

I am wishing you a good start of the week. Regards, Antidote 😉

Nails of the week

Nails of the week

Hi my readers

As is already known and very usual on this blog I share my nails right before I am about to remove it. But this time, to top it all the pictures that I have are terrible. Unlike the other times when I took the pictures with my camera, this time I took them with my phone. What is up with the Samsung camera and what compelled me to buy Samsung – I don’t know. But here there are. The manicure was really nice but it is not evident on the pictures.

I included some very bad photos so I can capture the glitter and I really tried, but blame the camera :/

Anyway, I am wishing you a lovely Sunday and amazing last day of this winter.

Have a nice one, Antidote 😉

Golden Rose Extreme Glitter shine nail lacquer 211

Hi my Readers 🙂

Brace yourself for influx of pictures from 3 different devices in order to capture the beauty of this nail polish! And they are still not good enough but I uploaded as many as I could for you. Glitter is so hard to capture on camera and I wanted to be as true to color as they can be.  And If you scroll down, you’ll see that on black base it looks like galaxy 🙂

extreme glitter shine 211extreme glitter shine 211 golden rose 211

I’ve been neglecting my nail lacquers for so long. I at least would paint them in one color but lately I’ve been slacking so much but decided to change that and this lacquer was a big part of it. The previous nails were also sort of difficult to made so I waited for them to start crumble apart before removing them so I can fully appreciate them.

You have no idea how much of a change this nail lacquer has made. Don’t know what it is about it but it sparked joy. I’ve been caring it around and just staring at it. Not to mention the staring at my nails…by me 😀 It might be because those colors were near to part of my hair colors (and I really like how the combination of turquoises and purple go together)

I entered the beauty store for one purpose but as it almost always it, left the store with more but all necessary things. One of them was picking some new nail polish. Fully intended to just check them out what’s new but then saw this one. Checked online to see how it looks because it they just got it and they didn’t have a swatch. The only internet picture was kind of deceiving but I still don’t regret buying it (quite the opposite as you already read 🙂 ).

The bottle

The first one is from my camera and many attempts to capture the right shades and the beauty of the glitter.

The second ones are with the base color and I left the blurry ones just so you can see the glitter because boi is it hard to capture the glitter in the nail polish (kudos to the professionals).

On daylight with different device:

And with black base:

Well… I tried…

Wishing you a good one 🙂

Dreaming of a plastic-free world

Standard

Hi my Readers 🙂

I worked sooooo much on this list of „what can a person do to help the environment“ and cut down on plastic. I kept adding to the list until I thought it was enough for me to post it. I did some research and really hope you take into consideration some of this recommendations.

There are German links to the recommendations as well. Just scroll down 🙂

First of all, I promise I am not one of those obnoxious their – believes pushers. I want to inform people because when I was doing some projects around this subject, I’ve noticed that not many know how important they are in slowing down global warming.

With this rates that global warming is growing, we need to do more to prevent this. I’m not going to bother you with facts, but am going to write few things that we as individuals can do to slow it a little bit down. Again: if you think „I am such a small individual in comparison to mansions and corporations“ – you are NOT! You are big enough to make a change. And few people like you – now we have 5 people. Few more – now we have 10 people doing their part 🙂

What can I do?

No pictures – only suggestions

Here are few things you can do to make a difference: (german and european links will be linked under the first part of this writing)

Reusable straws

There are options for reusable straws.

Metal straws – they come with brush to clean the with and plush to store them in and they also come in different colors.

Foldable metal straws – come with box (but it is still made out of plastic) so easily take them with you. It’s a keychain 🙂 and they also come in 2 pack and in different looks.

Glass straws – easy to see if they need cleaning. They look fancy too. They come in different colors too.

There is option for a silicone one too.

Reusable makeup removers

Cotton rounds – they are colorful and come with laundry bag 🙂

Makeup cloths – they are colorful too and come in different designs 🙂

Makeup wipes are so bad for the environment. They are equally as bad to your skin especially to the face. Here is more about that subject.

Reusable coffee cup

There are tons of different designs to the coffee cups and tumblers. There is a UNICORN one 😀 They make nice gifts too.  This zodiac one. This one is for the photography lovers, definitely! And I heard that in some coffee places you can get discount if you bring your own.

Reusable water bottles

It is important that you choose a non – toxic plastic one if you are going for a plastic one.

If you are worried about the tap water, you can buy inexpensive water filter that can look good on your table and will remind you to drink more water. I have this one and if you are interested if it makes difference, I will be happy to answer your questions.

So, you can buy one an fill your cup with the filtered water 🙂

This one is funny to me. Tons of different designs, just like the reusable coffee cups.

Glitter

Did you know that glitter is actually very hurtful? I didn’t! I just found out about is few weeks ago and nothing moved me like this one. I don’t know if it was because it looks really cool, or because I imagined drinking water with glitter and not being able to remove the glitter.

There is bio-degradable glitter. So, before you buy one, read if that glitter is bio-degradable. There is even bio-degradable glitter in sunscreen option. 🙂

Take – out food

How much waste does one dinner make? A lot! I know that in Germany, they are big on recycling. I don’t know how it stands in other countries. But even that is not enough.

Lunch box options

Tupperware or reuse the plastic containers from (example) cheese

Reuse plastic for your lunch instead of plastic and zip bags. Or fancy lunch box looks good too.  This one and this one are more girly options if you are into that 🙂  There are so many different options 🙂

Silicone zip  bags are great option too if you need something smaller.

Avoiding groceries that come in plastic for no reason

Avoiding groceries that unnecessary come in plastic. come in plastic for no reason. I even saw pealed orange in a plastic box. Why?

Bio degradable stuff

Bio – degradable trash bags, bio – degradable dog-waste bags, bamboo tooth brush

Even fun can be sustainable with this water baloons.

Cleaning products

Chemicals in products can be extremely harmful to us, our sin and health and for the environment. Even on laundry detergents there are warnings about how dangerous they are to the environment.
What you can do is to choose one with the least toxic ingredients.

Fast fashion

I was never a fan of this kind of fashion. I am the – EXTRA girl and choose some interesting pieces of clothing. As oppose to some friends that like basic but buy a lot. OK I buy a lot too but I am very picky 😀 I see how inexpensive some pieces are and that goes with cost in the background – child labor, exploitation (I would know), toxic dyes and more. Instead of that, try and buy some pieces that you like and would wear for an extended period of time.

Simple things

Turning off drinkable water while you are brushing your teeth, turning off lights, using yellow economical light bulbs (not white because they are actually bad for your eyes), reusing things, reusing containers, reusing old clothes for (example) cleaning the dust…

And here it is a fellow blogger that has really good suggestions too so CHECK HER POST as well 🙂  She has cool pics, unlike my post 😀

As promised, the German and european links (phew… this took me awhile 🙂 ):

How can anyone do this, I will never know!

And there are so many videos on this subject but I don’t want to overwhelm me and you.

WARNING! DISTURBING IMAGES AND VIDEOS TO SOME READERS!

If you think „what good can one person do“ – imagine YOUR straw ending in this poor turtle’s nose.

I also saw this video about a whale that showed his stomach was full of plastic.

Explicit images OVER!

I am deeply disturbed by some of the research that I’ve done just to write this post alone. Imagine being the person discovering this disturbing images…

I am not the person that will push the agenda of some sort. But I stop and think if someone asks me nicely. Just like this subject, I was involved in projects for raising awareness about the global warning. That means that I know a lot on this subjects but I am raising awareness politely! You can’t imagine what a difference that makes.

As always, stay healthy and happy and remember do to something good for you and others as well 🙂

Have a good one 😉

Glitter over regular nail polish – nails before I remove the polish :D

Standard

Because, apparently, I never take pictures when I have new nail polish on freshly done, I’ll call this type of posts – nails before I remove the polish.

Just like every other time, I took pictures of this nails right before I took the nail polish off of them. It is actually glitter over regular nail polish. I bought some craft glitter and looked sooo nice. As you know my obsession that is shown in this post you knew I had to get it.

glitter nails diy nail polish blue turquoise teal festive

I really wanted to show you how cute they looked 🙂 Next time I’ll try to remember to take pictures sooner 😀

How I did them:

I applied regular nail polish underneath. After few tries, I noticed that dark blue goes the best with it. Then, while the polish is still tacky, I dipped into the glitter. Noone said this will be fun 😀  After that I dusted off the excess and applied transparent nail polish to tone down the greediness.

This is little greedy and will cling to your clothes so if you plan on wearing silk, I don’t recommend it. Because of its texture, I came very fast, hence the mess of a look that I have on the pictures.

But hey, why bother over a nail polish. Until it chips badly, I think it is not that bad…depending on the look you are going for 😀

Have you seen my newest post about one of the most beautiful glitter nail polishes? Here it is: Golden Rose Extreme Glitter shine nail lacquer 211

Heads up:

  • Be careful when you use glitter. It can go all over the place no matter how careful you are.
  • Be careful when it is close to your eyes as it can cause damage to your cornea if it gets in it.

Wishing you very happy end of the week.

Antidote 😉

Polishing my nails after 4 months of not wearing nail polish

Polishing my nails after 4 months of not wearing nail polish

I worked in a place where nail polish was not allowed for safety reasons. In that time, I didn’t wore polish because it was too much fuss for me to polish my nail and then remove it after one day(or 2, 3, whatever). So I decided to let my nails rest. The first nail polish when I finished that job I wanted to be one that I will enjoy the most. And for me, that was this deep purple one.

Golden Rose Rich Color Nail Lacquer – 60

I realize that this pictures are not that great and this nail polish is few days on my nails but I really wanted to share it. The one with glitters are just an experiment that I did right before I took this photos.

Have a nice one.

Winter, New Years, Christmas nails *BLOGMAS*

Standard

Hi my Reader.
For todays Sunday post, I prepared topic that I am usually more good at, but for some reason, I couldn’t find better pictures so this will have to do the job. 🙂

I always have naturally long nails. Sometimes I trim them and sometimes I don’t have time for that and I end up breaking them from caring my luggage. For this New Year I will have short nails. You know the drill: you break one and you have to cut all of them. I don’t think that I had nails this short since few years ago when I regularly played on my violin. I miss them because I think that I am so used to them to the point that I can’t function properly without them. Nevertheless, I have to work with them. So, I find some pictures from years ago: what they were painted with. This is going to be a throwback as well as the design that I currently have.

I never cared about the age limits and I will never care. That’s why, I bring the Christmas mood even throughout my nail design.

This first picture is from 2013 and I had to capture the nails because they lasted 15 days without chipping or budging. Only the „ornaments“ (and now when I see it, maybe the Christmas tree a bit 😀 ) on the tree faded a bit. In the beginning the colors were more vivid. For 15 days of good manicure without chipping, I thought, I might as well take a picture 😀

2013 Мала новогодишна, со лак за нокти кој без поправки издржа повеќе од 15 дена и мораше да се овековечи

On this picture are my nails from 2014. As I base I used white, I put some blue on the bottom with a sponge and I topped it with blue sparkly polish that I really like and remind me of winter.
As per usual, I took the picture right before I remove the nail polish.

2014

And because It’s not yet Christmas or New Year, I don’t have the design from this year, but I still have kind of wintery design. Blue nail polish, silver glitter polish and topped with blue sheerer glitter polish.

nokti.jpg

You can see a pattern here. I like white and blue nail polish for the winter, but that doesn’t mean that I will wear only those colors exclusively. I wear classic red or burgundy too. But, that depends on my mood: what clothes color I like to wear.

That is it for my blogmas: nails edition.

Remember to do something good today.

Have a good sunday 🙂

Regards from Antidote 😉
